On Friday afternoon, pupils from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 gathered to celebrate their hard work during the fourth week of our Accelerated Reading programme.
Firstly, pupils from each class received the “Star Reader” award for making a particular effort with their reading. This week, the winners were:
- Caisi Mackle (P3
- Siena Woods (P4)
- Odhran McGeary (P5)
- Tara Gray (P6)
- Lucia Wochnik (P7)
Special prizes were also awarded to pupils who achieved exceptionally high word counts this week:
- P3 - Eoin Bremen (12,000 words)
- P4 - Leah Fegan (85,000 words)
- P5 - Ellen McKenna (243,000 words)
- P6 - Annie McElvanna (169,000 words)
- P7 - Cara McGeary (92,000 words)
Thus far the effort made by pupils has been exceptional. After only four weeks, the majority of pupils have now reached their personal targets securing the second part of their ticket to our end of year trip! At this stage, pupils should have reached approximately 67% of their personal target. Keep up the brilliant work!
