On Friday 28th September, children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 gathered to celebrate the hard work of pupils during the first and second week of the Accelerated Reading scheme.
Firstly a number of pupils were awarded "Star Reader" awards having made a particular effort with their reading. This week's winners were:
- Lucy Smith
- Sean Mallon
- Maisie Comiskey
- Milo Smith
- Saul Smith
Awards were given to pupils from each class who have reached particularly high word counts:
- P3 Claire McElvanna 15,000 words
- P4 Ellen McKenna 221,000words
- P5 Sean woods 149,000words
- P6 Ella Toal 319,000 words
- P7 Amy Toner 382,000 words
Incredibly, after only two weeks a number of pupils have fully met their personal targets. These pupils also received a special prize and included:
- Ellen McKenna
- Ella Toal
- Cadhla Tohill
- Amy Toner
- Lauren Carr
