On Friday 5th October, children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 gathered to celebrate the hard work of pupils during the third week of the Accelerated Reading scheme.
Firstly a number of pupils were awarded "Star Reader" awards having made a particular effort with their reading. This week's winners were:

- Lily McElvanna
- Pauric Fegan
- Ben Smith
- Sean Greene
Awards were given to pupils from each class who have reached particularly high word counts:
- P3 Claire McElvanna 5,708 words
- P4 Ellen McKenna 290,000 words
- P5 Sean woods 65,000 words
- P6 Ella Toal 48,000 words
- P7 Eimear McGeary 172,000 words
Incredibly, after only three weeks a number of pupils have fully met their personal targets. These pupils also received a special prize and included:

- Emma McMahon
- Lucy Smith
- Siena Woods
- Eabhi Woods
- Brendan Comiskey
