On Friday 24th January, children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 gathered to celebrate the hard work of pupils during the first and second week of the Accelerated Reading scheme.
Firstly a number of pupils were awarded "Star Reader" awards having made a particular effort with their reading. This week's winners were:
- Halle Fegan
- Tom McGoldrick
- Oisin Coyle
- Ethan McCann
- Milo Smith
Awards were given to pupils from each class who have reached particularly high word counts:
- P3 Conal Carr 12,800words
- P4 Claire McElvanna 211,000 words
- P5 Ellen McKenna 394,000 words
- P6 Niamh McElvanna 505,000 words
- P7 Ben Smith 106,000 words
Incredibly, after only two weeks many pupils have now reached their personal reading targets securing the second part of their pass to Our Accelerated Reading Trip. Well done boys and girl!
At this stage pupils should have reached approximately 34% of their personal target.
