On Friday 24th January, children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 gathered to celebrate the hard work of pupils during the 2nd week of the Accelerated Reading scheme.
Firstly, Mr. Loughran awarded pupils who have been making a special effort over the 2nd week with a Star reader trophy. This week also saw some children reach their overall targets. This is a wonderful achievement with only two weeks of the programme gone. Awards were also given to pupils from each class who have reached particularly high word counts. This week the winners were:
Primary 3: Caitlin McElvanna - 22,000 words
Primary 4: Danu McKinney 61,000 words
Primary 5: John Gray 262,000
Primary 6: Sadie McCusker: 202,000 words
Primary 7: Courtney Fisher 321,000
Thus far, the effort made by pupils in the accelerated reading scheme has been brilliant. Well done boys and girls! Keep up the hard work!
