On Friday 18th October, children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 gathered to celebrate the hard work of pupils during the 6th week of the Accelerated Reading scheme.
Firstly, Mr. Loughran awarded pupils who have been making a special effort over the 6th week with a Star reader trophy. This week also saw some children reach their overall targets. This is a wonderful achievement with two weeks of the programme remaining. Awards were also given to pupils from each class who have reached particularly high word counts. This week the winners were:
Primary 3: Roissorlaith Grimley - 15,240 words
Primary 4: Ethan McGarvey 73,890 words
Primary 5: Cathal Maguire 79,643
Primary 6: Szymon Stelmach: 68,877 words
Primary 7: Jack Murphy 244,764
Thus far, the effort made by pupils in the accelerated reading scheme has been brilliant. Well done boys and girls! Keep up the hard work!
