On Friday 5th February, children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 gathered to celebrate the hard work of pupils during the first and second week of week of the Accelerated Reading scheme. Firstly, pupils who have been making a special effort were awarded with with a Star reader prize. This week's star readers are:

- Leona Grimley
- Serena McCusker
- Cianan Grimley
Incredibly after only two weeks Caitlin McElvanna has now reached her target and received the second part of her golden ticket to Lisburn swimming pool and cinema. Awards were also given to pupils from each class who have reached particularly high word counts:
- P3 Eoghan O'Hara 17,011 words
- P4 Aoife O'Hara 138,494 words
- P5 Caitlin McElvanna 480,054 words
- P6 Ethan McGarvey 182,708 words
- P7 Niamh Maginess 130,935 words
Thus far, the effort made by pupils in the accelerated reading scheme has been brilliant. Well done boys and girls! Keep up the hard work!
At this stage pupils should have reached approximately 30-35%% of their targets.
