On Thursday 27th October, children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 gathered to celebrate the hard work of pupils during the final week of the Accelerated Reading scheme. Firstly, pupils who have been making a special effort were awarded with with a "Star Reader" prize. This week's star readers were:

- Ella Hughes
This week, many more children have reached their personal targets receiving the first part of their golden ticket to Funtasia waterpark. Awards were also given to pupils from each class who have reached particularly high word counts:
- P3 Sean Woods 42,364 words
- P4 Ella Toal 42,214 words
- P5 Ryan Mallon 40,541 words
- P6 Annie Fitzpatrick 139,996 words
- P7 Danu McKinney 258,624 words
Special awards were also given to primary seven pupils Danu McKinney and Tony Moore for their hard work and brilliant achievements. Incredibly, Danu managed to become a "Word Millionaire" reading 1,018,076 words in the past 7 weeks. Tony managed to complete all reading quizzes without answering a single question incorrectly. Well done Danu and Tony!
The effort made by pupils during our first block of the accelerated reading scheme has been brilliant and everyone should feel very proud of their hard work. Well done boys and girls!
