On Friday 9th October, children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 gathered to celebrate the hard work of pupils during the sixth week of the Accelerated Reading scheme. Firstly, pupils who have been making a special effort were awarded with with a Star reader prize. This week's star readers are:
- Eoghan O'Hara
- Ryan Mallon
- Dylan Crilly
- Tiarnan Tohill
- Shay McCusker
More pupils have now reached their personal targets. These readers have been working extremely hard and are now aiming to become word millionaires: Awards were also given to pupils from each class who have reached particularly high word counts:
- P3 Jamie Crilly 3,481 words
- P4 Caolan Fitzpatrick 36,375 words
- P5 Roise McGeary 117,227 words
- P6 Ethan McGarvey 74,254 words
- P7 Niamh Maginess 89,000 words
Thus far, the effort made by pupils in the accelerated reading scheme has been brilliant. Well done boys and girls! Keep up the hard work!
At this point in the programme, pupils should have achieved approximately 80-85% of their personal targets.
