On Friday 8th May, children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 gathered to celebrate the hard work of pupils during the fourth week of the Accelerated Reading scheme.
Firstly, pupils who have been making a special effort were awarded with with a Star reader certificate. This week the star readers were
- Caolan Fitzpatrick
- Kevin Tighe
- Dawn Smith
- Jamie Smith
- Sophie Morgan
Awards were also given to pupils from each class who have reached particularly high word counts:
- P3 Caitlin 17,000 words
- P4 Grace 41,000 words
- P5 Danu 100,000 words
- P6 Kerrie 114,000 words
- P7 Sophie 80,000 words
A special award was also given to Sadie McCusker who became a word millionaire, reading an incredible one million words throughout the accelerated reading scheme this year.
Many more pupils have reached their personal targets for this term securing the third part of their ticket to Indianna Land.
Thus far, the effort made by pupils in the accelerated reading scheme has been brilliant. Well done boys and girls! Keep up the hard!
