Accelerated Reading Progress
Ordinarily we celebrate the success of our pupils in weekly Accelerated Reading awards in our school hall. Whilst we are unable to continue this tradition, we are aware that our pupils have been working extremely hard towards their personal reading targets. As a result we wish to highlight the progress made by our pupils and celebrate their success. Each week your child's teacher will upload a news report identifying progress made. We hope this serves as a means to recognise the hard work of all our pupils.
Mr Hart's Class
What a brilliant start to our accelerated Reading programme. Whilst the circumstances are challenging for all of us, it is clear to see that the hard work and determination of pupils in primary six and seven hasn't waned.
This week a total of 35 books were read by the P6 and P7 pupils. This is remarkable as ordinarily books completed by pupils in upper KS2 are longer and therefore take a greater period of time to complete. Well done to all of the boys and girls who have read a book and taken a quiz. These pupils are:
- Brendan Comiskey
- Milo Smith
- Liam McGarvey
- Ella Toal
- Lucia Wochnik
- Pauric Fegan
- Tadhg Grimley
- Kealan Hughes
- Jake Kiernan
- Niamh McElvanna
- Patrick Morgan
- Megan O'Reilly
This weeks Star reader in primary six is Kealan Hughes who read three books and maintained a "Comprehension Level" of 90%. In primary seven the star reader is Brendan Comiskey who read one book and maintained a "Comprehension Level" of 100%
Congratulations to those pupils who have also achieved exceptionally high word counts this week:
Primary Six | Primary Seven |
Niamh McElvanna 125,706 words |
Ella Toal 92,221 words |
Megan O'Reilly 30,285 words |
