Friday 7th November marked the final day of this terms accelerated reading programme. With a lot of hard work, everyone has now managed to reach their reading target.
At this weeks prize giving, pupils who have been making a special effort were awarded withk with a Star reader certificate. Awards were also given to pupils from each class who have reached particularly high word counts and to those who have reached their targets. This week the winners were:
Primary 3: Eimear McGeary - 8,027 words
Primary 4: Dylan Crilly - 18,432 words
Primary 5: Danu McKinney - 112,929 words
Primary 6: Emily McElvanna - 83,448 words
Primary 7: Shannon Maguire - 89,364 words
As a result of their hard work children received a special prize of a movie afternoon as well as the first part of their Accelerated Reading pass. With two more sessions of the Accelerated Reading programme remaining pupils are now 1/3 of the way to securing a place on the trip to Indianna Land.
Once again the programme has proven to be a massive success with the children displaying genuine interest in reading. Well done boys and girls!
