Further Update (16/03/20)

Dear Parent,

The Board of Governors of St Joseph’s PS under its duty of care to all stakeholders has taken the decision that the school will not reopen on Wednesday 18th March and will remain closed until Monday 23rd March.

We will be using school Exceptional Closure days designated for May to facilitate this decision.

Staff will be in school during this time preparing materials and resources for pupils. The minister for Education Mr. Peter Weir has advised that schools will remain open for now and that we should prepare work schedules which can be completed in a home setting with parental support.

We thank you for your understanding and look to our politicians to provide more effective leadership in these unprecedented times. If the decision to close schools’ is not in place and we reopen on Monday 23rd, individual parents should consider their own child and families particular health concerns and respond appropriately.
