Mr Hart's class attend poetry workshop

On Wednesday 3rd October, children in Mr Hart's class attended a poetry workshop at the Navan Centre & Fort. The workshop offered children the opportunity to work with a local poet and reinforced much of the literacy work which has been covered in class.

The theme of the day was "stars". Children worked with local poet Maura Johnston to brainstorm ideas for their poems which will be entered in the Navan poetry competition. They then had the opportunity to meet a variety of characters including a Victorian traveller and a Viking whose lives were influenced by the stars.
