On Wednesday 30th September, children from Mr Hart's class attended a poetry workshop at the Navan Centre & Fort. The workshop offered children the opportunity to work with a local poet and reinforced much of the literacy work which has been covered in class.
The theme of the day was "Light". Children worked with local poet Maura Johnston to brainstorm ideas for their poems which will be entered in the Navan poetry competition. They then had the opportunity to meet a variety of characters including a Viking who talked about light in relation to navigation and a WW2 Air Raid Precaution (ARP) officer who discussed "The Blackout"..
