Mr Hart's class begin Minecraft based project
On Friday 5th November, representatives from the AMMA Centre in Armagh visited St. Joseph's to commence a Minecraft based education programme.
The pupils in Mr. Hart's class have been learning about the Armagh Railway Disaster and as part of their studies the pupils will be creating a future trainstation for Armagh. They will be using the minecraft game as a means to achieve this.
Minecraft consists of a virtual world made up of 1cm³ blocks. Using this knowledge, the children will use concepts of measure and perspective to create scaled plans. From these plans they will create virtual models in Minecraft.
Pictured are some of the pupils experimenting with Minecraft. Stay tuned for further updates to the project.
