Good afternoon boys and girls. Friday again and another week of online learning complete, once again thank you for all your hard work and efforts throughout the week.
As you all were aware this week on Sumdog we were taking part in the Southern Regional Maths contest along side 48 other classes from a variety of other schools in the local area. The effort from the children of St. Joseph’s was nothing short of phenomenal, it was absolutely unbelievable and the results speak for themselves. You have done yourselves, your families, your teachers and your school proud!! A huge well done to each and every one of you for the time and effort you contributed to the competition. It was worth it all. 😃âï¸ðŸ‘ðŸ»
Out of all the 48 classes that took part our class came in 7th position which is amazing!!! So well done everyone!
On an individual note, I would like to send an extra special congratulations to a number of Primary two children from our class. WOW, What an achievement and to be one of the youngest children in the competition to be crowned the overall winner! I am sure you and your family are all so so proud! Well done Aria, just fantastic!!
A number of other children from our class were also placed in the top 10 overall out of 365 children which is also absolutely incredible.
In 4th place overall with an another amazing score was Donnacha Breen who scored 968/1000 questions. In 5th position overall scoring 967/1000 right behind Donnacha was Katie Maguire and in 10th position scoring 958/1000 was Maria Mallon. Such accuracy from such young children!!
