P5 pupil Oisin Smith speaks about his trip to Kenya...
On Thursday 2nd February P5 pupil Oisin Smith spoke in assembly about a fundraising initiative in which he is involved. Oisin will be going to Kenya in July to assist in the construction of a number of primary schools. Oisin spoke very confidently and has very kindly provided us with his speech:
I will be going to Kenya for three weeks in July with a charity called Moving Mountains. My mum has been there before and is in charge of taking groups every year.
I will be the youngest person going. The oldest is called Nick and he is 71. He has been all over the world and has even climbed Mount Everest.
We will be building primary schools and i will be teaching the children about Ireland and helping them with their English.
We are also building a play park for the orphanage where we will be camping.
At the end of the trip we will go on a safari. I will have to get injections and take tablets so i don't get sick.
I am really looking forward to it.
Everyone in St. Joseph's would like to wish Oisin good luck. Children are reminded that we will be hosting a non-uniform day on Friday 3rd February with all contributions going towards the project.
