Primary 7 children attend football Blitz

On Tuesday 3rd April children from primary seven visited Blackwatertown to take part in the annual St. Jarlath's PS football Blitz. With a total of 24 schools in attendance, schools were divided into groups of four. The teams competed for qualification with the top two teams in each group progressing to the knock out stages.

Although performing extremly well and braving the cold weather conditions the girls team failed to progress. The boys team however advanced to the final stage of the competion having beaten Mount St. Catherine's PS, and St. Jarlath's Blackwatertown.

In the quarter finals they faced an Eglish team and although the standard was excellent they were narrowly defeated.

The Blitz proved to be a very enjoyable day for all. Well done boys and girls!
